[If something threatening pops up, she will try to tap into it. It's almost reflexive for her — Miyako's mastery and use of the Dragon Stream will be something that bites her back in Cerealia.]
[ Mitsutada taps his chin, thinking back to how he didn't even sense his younger self approach at all. All tsukumogami had some level of spiritual pressure to them. ]
That's quite possible, yes.
[ If the murder was referring to player characters getting KO'd by the creeper nurses, it isn't too far off a stretch. If not, then it probably was a 'plot clue'. ]
Seems like it. The nurses tend to assault us, though. So they're probably not important.
[Sayo nods and starts walking. He did briefly look at Miyako to see if she's following along, before turning his attention ahead of them. Let's see where this path leads to?
Don't mind the mess, Miyako. It'd be some time until they reach the non-safe areas...]
[Even if the areas so far were relatively safe, Miyako's approach was still slow and methodical. Unarmed and...undressed as she was, she didn't allow herself even a moment of relaxation. Letting her guard down could lead to mistakes, and those mistake would lead to even more mistakes...
And so she slowly makes her way through the path, probably lagging behind at points. She won't call out to Sayo and ask him to slow down unless the distance becomes too great, however. While Miyako isn't adverse to asking for help, there is still the Hotsuin pride and stubbornness to account for.]
[They draw nearer towards the unsafe areas. Sayo looks ahead and spy the silhouette of a monstrous looking thing in a patient's garb. One of the angry cthulhu patients that can be seen prowling around, their limbs moving and and examining whatever they can touch.]
[ It's still strange to think about tsukumogami and things like that, even though he's carrying one right now.... but hark, what's this?! Souji finally starts to set Sayo down safely on the ground, hooray, but he can't resist one more shithead remark-- ]
I thought Kashuu and Yamato were short, but you're pretty tiny. Did your master choose that form for you on purpose?
[Yes, he's finally back on the ground! No offense, but Sayo doesn't trust Souji completely with carrying him. Or just anything else, really. And also, wow?! Sayo shake his head.]
No, I'm always this small even before I was summoned. [Sure, his outfit probably changed a few times during his long life. But never his height. When will he get taller...] Tantou, like myself, are usually short.
[Because they're daggers. Short swords. Small swords. Even though he's the shortest in the army for now...]
[Well, he can kind of understand that? Kashuu doesn't look like a Shinsengumi sword at a glance. Sayo only met and know Kashuu in the citadel...]
It depends on which sword you talk to. [Some of them seems more human, others embrace their identity more openly.] Were you expecting your sword to be like Yamatonokami-san?
Hm. [ that's a question that Souji doesn't automatically dismiss. ] Kind of. Yamato's pretty bloodthirsty. That nature of his makes sense.
[ anyone else would think it was problematic, but not Okita Souji. ]
Then again, I haven't seen Kashuu fight seriously yet, so maybe he's the same? [ he looks down at Sayo. ] Maybe all tsukumogami are merciless during battle.
We have to be. If we don't, we may fail and break in battle.
[Even if it's hard for Kousetsu. Sayo knows they all need to do their part in the war they're in back home. Sayo's pause for a moment, before he speaks.]
Kashuu-san can fight, but he knows how to hold himself back better than Yamatonokami-san.
...Actually, maybe I shouldn't be surprised after all. [ after all, the Kashuu he met here isn't exactly his sword anymore. He decides not to think too deeply on that subject anymore, instead returning his attention back to Sayo. ]
