[The further away they go, the weaker the hugging urge seems to get? Until Sayo no longer can see that dead looking guy and he stops trying to go after him.]
Did he ever stop?
[Or is Taroutachi still at large, laughing and hugging all in his reign of terror?]
[Sayo also checked his CereVice for the time. Ah, it's that late? His brothers would be worried. He looks up at William and nods.]
Thank you... and to you as well.
[And since that's as good as it get, Sayo turns to leave. He did pause to look back at William, mostly to check on him, before he looks away and resume his return home.]
[ Kousetsu might not look it but the apparition is affecting him somewhat as he stills before turning around, eyes never meeting the strange figure before him. ]
...no. But there must be a way out. [ Time for scouting! ]
...if we continue walking I am sure we will find one.
[ And running it is. Mitsutada might not have enough eyes to keep on both the road ahead and the two ghosts following them, but he has enough hearing ability to distinguish their footsteps from his own.
Strange, how they can interact with the environment, but not them.
It takes a while, four pairs of feet echoing throughout the long corridor - but at last, a door comes into view - slammed open to reveal a stairway towards what is presumably the first floor. He lets Sayo go up first before ascending himself. Just as expected, the apparitions stop at the threshold and fade away as they climb.
Mitsutada doesn't speak until they make it to the main lobby. His expression is pinched and worried, distinctively different from his usual cheer. ]
[After they finally made it to the main lobby, Sayo didn't answer at first. He just looked over his shoulder at the direction where they came from. He already knew the apparitions didn't follow them this far - he didn't feel the stares or his own voice calling out to him - but he still looked.
And then, he finally answer.]
... I'm alright. [Maybe.] But I don't like it.
[Sayo doesn't care if others saw his younger self. But he's more worried about what it means for others, such as his brothers or his master.]
[Sayo pauses and blinks. His vision seems to be... shifting? He looks up at Kashuu's dead face, watching as his vision seems to be changing. Until Kashuu's lively, brighter self stands there before him, instead of his dead, broken form.]
...no?
[He blinks again, before rubbing his eyes. A trick or did he return to normal?]
I believe that to be a well chosen plan of action. This labyrinth has pitfalls scattered about; if we are careful, we may be able to lure the monsters into one should the need arise.
[Hopefully, the need won't arise, but she's not that naive as to hope for a smooth journey.]
[Kashuu could only imagine... Not that he willingly would. But he can see the relief there, and so he reaches out with his free hand to ruffle Sayo's hair.]
So it didn't last super long, right? Not bad, not bad.
I am. Shall I take the lead? You need not worry about my ability to take care of myself; I am more than capable of doing so, despite my lack of weapons.
[She gives him a confident smile. While she prefers to have her weapons with her, she can take down threats without if need be. Ideally she'd prefer not to take on too many of them, but...she's been in worse situations.]
Alright. I can watch our backs. [Tantous are best for fast, sneaky attacks, after all. Even though he's the type to charge in.] You know unarmed combat skills? Or magic?
[If she can defend herself without her weapons, those are his logical guesses.]
Unarmed combat is not by any means a specialty of mine, but should it come to that, I will manage. I do have magical abilities as well, which I am more than confident in my ability to wield. Fear not; I will not get myself into a situation in which I cannot handle.
[Of course, she hasn't realized yet that she won't be able to channel the Dragon's Stream full power anymore... It'll be a different story once that happens. She's grown too reliant on it.]
Mitsutada could say the same for himself, to be honest. It might sound too easy to write the ghosts off as some sort of diversion NPC or other, but the fact that they kept saying ominous things just added to the creepiness of it all. ]
... yeah. Wonder why they'd pop up all of a sudden, huh?
[ He runs a hand through his hair to try and appear more relaxed, but it doesn't exactly work.
How did they know about his Oda self? The part of him that he's always denied? ]
This is a hospital, it's not for dying in. Unless... someone got murdered here?
